NHEA Food Drive For Westview HUBRecently, members of the NHEA (North Hills Education Association) came together to support the local West View Hub by organizing a food drive. This effort was part of the association's commitment to giving back and supporting families in need.
The drive saw generous donations from NHEA members, providing essential food items to help stock the shelves at the West View Hub. The Hub is a vital resource for the local area, offering not only food support but also social services, education programs, and community outreach. The contributions from the NHEA will help ensure that the Hub can continue to offer assistance to families facing food insecurity, especially as the colder months approach. The NHEA's food drive reflects the association's ongoing efforts to engage in meaningful community service and to make a positive impact beyond the classroom. NHEA members helped sort and deliver donations, while others spread awareness to encourage more participation. The West View Hub expressed deep gratitude for the support from NHEA, noting that these kinds of community initiatives are crucial for maintaining the services they provide. The success of the food drive is a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together to help those in need. |
Highcliff Elementary nurse Amanda Lemon nominated as an American Heart Association Leader of ImpactCongratulations to Highcliff Elementary School Nurse Amanda Lemon, who has been nominated as an American Heart Association Leader of Impact!
Over the next seven weeks, Amanda and her Impact Team will work to raise awareness about heart health, promote healthier lifestyles, and fundraise to support lifesaving heart research. ❤️ Amanda’s inspiration comes from her son, Sebastian, who was diagnosed with a heart condition at age 9. His experience sparked her passion for advocacy, CPR training, and helping to create Heart Safe Schools—places where students and staff are prepared to respond in an emergency. The club is collecting details about veterans who graduated from either North Hills High School or the former West View High School through an online form. Submissions for posthumous veterans and active duty service members are also welcome. This information, along with a photo and a short biography, will be featured in the first-ever Hall of Honor display at the middle school's main lobby next month. On November 14, the veterans will be invited to the school to participate in a panel discussion with history club members. If you’re interested in attending, please indicate your availability on the form! We are excited to create this tribute and celebrate some of our nation’s heroes!
